The Shanghai Jiushi Basketball Club has officially reached an agreement with foreign players Kenneth Lofton, Brandon Goodwin, Kyle Fogg, and Hassan Whiteside on the franchise. After the registration materials are submitted to the CBA company and reviewed and publicized, they will represent the Shanghai Jiushi Men’s Basketball Team in the CBA League in the 2025-2026 season.
Kenneth Lofton
Last season, Lofton played 34 regular season games for the Sharks, averaging 32.3 minutes, 25.2 points, 12.6 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.6 interceptions and 0.6 blocks per game. He was awarded the best international player in the regular season. With his assistance, our team won the first CBA Club Cup and achieved 28 wins and 18 losses in the regular season, successfully entering the playoffs.
As a forward player, Lofton has comprehensive offensive skills, skillful inside footwork, and outstanding fighting awareness. He is the main threat to our Sharks on the offensive end. Brandon Goodwin
Goodwin was born on October 2, 1995. He is 185 cm tall and weighs 81 kg. He serves as a defender on the court. He has played for the Nuggets, Hawks, Cavaliers and other teams in NBA league games. Last season, he played on behalf of Shanxi Fenjiu and helped the team achieve 34 wins and 12 losses in the regular season, ranking second in the league. In the playoffs, he helped Shanxi Fenjiu defeat Guangdong Dongguang Sunshine 3-0, and entered the CBA playoffs semi-finals again after 13 years.
During the offseason, Goodwin represented the Qatar Men's Basketball Team in the 2025 Men's Basketball Asian Cup. Fogg, born on January 27, 1990, is 191 centimeters tall and weighs 87 kilograms. He serves as a defender on the court. Last season, Fogg played 41 games for Liaoning Bengang in the regular season, averaging 32.2 minutes per game, contributing 23.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4 assists, shooting 47.3% from the field and 39.1% from the three-point range.
As one of the most successful foreign players in the history of the CBA League, Fogg helped the Liaoning Bengang Men’s Basketball Team complete three consecutive championships and was awarded the MVP of the 2023-2024 CBA Finals. His abundant experience in the playoffs and finals is a valuable asset for our Sharks. In the new season, he will wear the No. 24 uniform to fight for our Sharks.
Hassan Whiteside
Whiteside was born on June 13, 1989. He is 213 centimeters tall and weighs 107 kilograms. He plays the fifth position on the court. He has played in the NBA for the Kings, Heat, Trail Blazers, Jazz and other teams, and won two blocks, one rebound, and one All-Defensive Second Team.
As a No. 5 position, Whiteside has excellent size and strength. His 231 cm wingspan makes him extremely threatening on the defensive end.
