6686 Sports reported on November 13 that the Turkish Football Association issued an announcement to report the latest progress in the recent disciplinary investigation of illegal capital injections involving referees and players.

Official Announcement

In view of the statement issued by the association chairman Hazhi Osmanoglu at the press conference, the Turkish Football Association has officially launched a disciplinary investigation on October 27, 2025, aiming to find out whether individuals within the scope of the "Football Disciplinary Directive" have committed illegal capital injections.

The objects of this survey cover football referees who serve as referees in professional league events, and have been extended to professional football players in professional league events. To ensure openness and transparency of information, the Association hereby issues a statement to inform the public. It should be emphasized that the data on which this disciplinary investigation is based are based on official records obtained by the Association after applying to relevant agencies.

Referee Investigations

In the investigation of the referee group, a total of 152 referees were transferred to the Professional Football Disciplinary Committee for follow-up processing. It is worth noting that one of the referees has filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor’s office, alleging that his personal data was illegally obtained and used to open relevant accounts and conduct transactions.

In response to this criminal complaint, the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the platform involved and submitted the findings to the Professional Football Disciplinary Committee. The investigation concluded that the platform lacks the required information during the registration process and allows users to use designated reward points to make a one-time illegal capital injection without binding a bank account. There are system vulnerabilities that can be used maliciously.

Player Investigation Status

In view of the above situation, the Association is seeking more detailed information from relevant agencies regarding the 47 professional football players who have been identified as involved in activities similar to "using bonus points for one-time capital injection" to ensure the rigor and appropriateness of disciplinary investigations.

It is worth mentioning that among the 1,024 players who have been referred to the Professional Football Disciplinary Committee, two players have filed criminal complaints with the Prosecutor's Office, claiming to be victims. The administrative bans against the two players have been lifted, according to documentation they submitted to the disciplinary committee.
