6686 Sports reported on November 12 that Rob Edwards has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract and officially became the coach of the Wolves.

According to previous reports by The Athletic, Wolves and Middlesbrough reached a compensation agreement of approximately 3 million pounds for Edwards' transfer.

Official announcement

Edwards was a former Wolves player and played 111 times for the club from 2004 to 2008 as a central defender. Since then, he has played for Blackpool and Barnsley, and started coaching the Wolves U18 echelon in 2014, and was later promoted to assistant coach of the first team. In October 2016, he briefly served as interim first-team coach following the departure of Walter Janga.

Edwards has performed well in his coaching career. He led Forest Green Rovers to win the English League Two Championship in 2022, won promotion to the Championship at Luton Town, and successfully coached the Premier League team. He led Middlesbrough to second place in the Championship at the start of the season.
