Spanish Football Association official news on November 11, De La Fuente summoned Rayo Vallecano midfielder De Frutos to participate in the last two qualifying matches of the Spanish team's 2026 World Cup. The Spanish team will play Georgia away from home and Turkey at home.
Spain’s previous official announcement stated that Yamal underwent pubic bone surgery without communicating with the Spanish national team’s doctor, and therefore withdrew from the current Spanish team’s roster. Therefore, De La Fuente urgently called up De Frutos to fill the vacant spot.
